People often ask me how I know what they are feeling, or how I seem to understand what is happening beneath the surface without them telling me everything. The simple answer is that I have always been highly intuitive. It is not something I consciously learned; it is something I have gradually recognised, trusted and refined over many years.
For much of my life I didn’t have a name for it. I simply knew that I could sense when someone was anxious, carrying emotional pain or holding tension in their body, even when they appeared calm. As a child and throughout my career, I often found myself understanding people in ways that were difficult to explain. Looking back, I realise this intuitive sensitivity was always there. Like many people with this ability, I initially thought everyone experienced the world in the same way.
My years in the Royal Navy taught me discipline, observation and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Working in demanding environments sharpened my awareness of subtle changes in people—their posture, breathing, facial expressions and behaviour. Later, my work as a systems engineer strengthened my analytical mind, teaching me to recognise patterns, identify root causes and solve complex problems.
These experiences created an unusual combination. I developed both a logical, analytical way of thinking and a deeply intuitive awareness of people. Rather than competing with each other, they work together.
Training as an Alexander Technique teacher deepened this awareness further. I spent years learning to observe how the body reflects the mind, how unnecessary tension develops and how movement, breathing and posture influence our wellbeing. The Alexander Technique taught me to see what many people cannot feel within themselves.
As my understanding grew, I discovered the Energy Alignment Method (EAM), which gave me another language for what I had already been sensing. It confirmed that unresolved emotional experiences often become reflected in the body and influence how we think, feel and behave. Instead of simply treating symptoms, I learned how to help people safely release what no longer serves them.
Over time I came to accept that my sensitivity extends beyond physical observation. During sessions I often become aware of emotions, memories or energetic patterns that a client may not yet have spoken about. Sometimes I experience this as a strong feeling, sometimes as an image, sometimes simply as a deep knowing. I never assume these impressions are absolute truth. Instead, I treat them as gentle invitations for exploration, allowing the client to confirm what resonates with their own experience.
This approach keeps the work respectful, collaborative and centred on the individual rather than on me.
My intuitive sensitivity is not about predicting the future or performing something mystical. It is about listening at a deeper level. Most people spend their lives listening only to their thoughts. I also listen to what the body is communicating through movement, tension, breathing, emotion and energy.
When someone arrives feeling stuck, overwhelmed or exhausted, their body is already telling a story. Years of stress may have become chronic shoulder tension. Grief may be held in restricted breathing. Fear may appear as guarded posture or persistent pain. Long before the conscious mind understands what is happening, the body has often adapted to protect itself.
This is where my intuitive sensitivity becomes valuable.
As we work together, I notice subtle changes that many people overlook. A change in breathing. A release of muscle tension. A shift in facial expression. A deeper sense of calm. These small changes often signal that something important is beginning to move.
Combining intuitive awareness with the Alexander Technique and the Energy Alignment Method allows me to guide people towards lasting change rather than temporary relief. Instead of fighting symptoms, we gently uncover and release the patterns that have kept them trapped.
Every session is different because every person is different.
Some people experience significant physical relief as old tension disappears. Others find emotional clarity after years of feeling stuck. Many leave with a profound sense of calm that they cannot fully explain, only that they feel lighter, clearer and more like themselves.
I do not claim to heal people. The body already possesses an extraordinary capacity to heal when the obstacles preventing that healing are reduced. My role is to help people reconnect with that natural ability.
My intuition simply helps me know where to begin.
It acts like a compass, guiding our work towards what is most important in that moment. Combined with years of professional training, practical experience and a compassionate approach, it enables me to support people in creating meaningful and lasting transformation.
Ultimately, my intuitive sensitivity is not about me.
It is about creating a space where you feel deeply seen, genuinely heard and safely supported. A space where your body can let go of what it no longer needs to carry, allowing you to move forward with greater freedom, confidence and ease.
Because when the mind, body and energy come back into alignment, life begins to feel lighter, movement becomes easier and you are free to become the person you were always meant to be.
