Your relationship with things

Christina

I was the one that mentioned about hips. I suffered when I was a child with my hips, that was eventually put down to growing pains, but I get reoccurrences of pain. Over Christmas I used the Alexander Technique when I had some of the pain came back and it really did work!. I also didn’t find myself stressing over too much after using the technique, so it has already proved very useful. – Christina

Our things!

We use many things everyday, some over and over again and other things occasionally. We learn to use these things, firstly with intrigue and carefulness, then later out of habit. Like making your first tea or coffee in the morning, for me sometimes I think about making a brew and somehow it’s in my hand, I was total unaware how it happened, then other times I’m aware of all the activities to make a mug of tea.

Which is the best way, fully aware or fully automatic? It depends! Both have their own benefits. This is what we will discuss and practice during this workshop.

The thoughts and beliefs we have with things

We bring a lot of history with what we do with things, perhaps you were great at using something and you still are, equally you may believe you are bad at using something. These thoughts and beliefs linger for years or until you address them. This workshop will give you the tools to notice your habits and let go of the ones you don’t want and bring in new habits that serve you better.

I was once scared at public speaking, I now revel in it.

What is your fear of a thing?

These thoughts and beliefs can be either positive and negative, they are brought on by the events, people and situations. Some of these thoughts and beliefs stick and we are stuck with a particular behaviour to a thing.
